ANNUAL REPORT OF THE SESSION 2021-22

In the session 2021-22, the total strength of the school from Nursery to Class X stands at 1369 students, 60 teaching staff and 15 non teaching staff members. In April 2022 my first batch of class X comprising of 46 students will appear for their Board Exam.

Excellence in education and fostering the love of learning is the hallmark of Anekant English Medium School. Our staff of dedicated and sincere teachers are working to improve the academic standards of both the Pre Primary and Primary sections. Efforts are made to promote the holistic development of students encouraging them to participate in both, curricular and co—curricular activities.

Teachers act as the facilitators and explain concepts, facts and provide extra information to the students with a variety of teaching aids. E-learning is an important and essential component in this regard, which makes the teaching- learning process both interesting and interactive. Teachers take good care of the students and assist them to cope with all kinds of problems and challenges.

In this academic session, the school has primarily been working in an online mode in accordance with the Government Regulations. All classes and students were in touch with their class teachers and subject teachers through Google Meet, Google forms, Video presentations, U tube videos and many virtual modes. Efforts were being made to ensure that all students actively participated in the online mode and ensured that maximum learning outcomes. Teachers conducted their online lectures with attractive and informative Power point presentations, online activities and even conducted the Periodic tests and Examinations through the online medium.

When the school reopened physically for a brief period, all precautions of sanitization, thermal checking, wearing of mask and social distancing was maintained. Care was also taken to ensure that the staff were vaccinated well in advance to provide a safe and secure school environment. Once the students got back into the daily routine of regular classes, students of class IX and X were vaccinated with both doses.


Student Enrichment Programmes

Just like every year, this year too our students actively participated in all school activities and competitions – but with a difference i.e in the virtual mode. These included Singing competition, Dance competition, Marathi poem singing competition, Drawing and poster making competition, Greeting card making competitions in the pre primary and primary sections.

Festivals and celebrations like Holi, Christmas, Rakshabandhan, Ganesh Festival, Bhondla etc. are also an integral part of the student’s development. All national, religious and regional festivals are held throughout the year to educate the children about the rich cultural and religious heritage of India. These events sensitize the students towards living in harmony in a diverse society – and encourage them to pay respect to the customs and traditions of all religious communities. School Founders Day was also celebrated with various online activities and competitions.

All class assemblies were conducted in the online mode. Through these students gained confidence. Every class participated with full enthusiasm on the topics given to them – like Health, Discipline, Collaboration, Internet, My teacher- My Guide, Friends, Leadership, Empathy, etc.

Every year we organise motivational lectures for students seeking to promote various life skills and their holistic development. In the words of Aristotle – ‘Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all’. Hence a series of lectures were organized for the students and parents. Mr. Satish Nanaware guided the students on Physical and Mental Health. Mr. Sujay Singh Kamble conducted a Snake Awareness Programme for class VI to X breaking the fear and myths surrounding this creature.  Inspirational career guidance session was also organised -our distinguished speaker was Mr.Narendra Dhele from University of Vienna, Austria. Mrs. Sampada Badve conducted a Seed Ball Making Workshop motivating the students to protect the environment. Students also participated in Swachchata Pakhwada 2021 and learnt about the importance of personal hygiene and sanitation. A session on Communication skills was organised by Mrs. Smita Gore guiding students on ways to improve their speaking skills. Mrs. Madhumanti Deo created interest amongst the students through her guidance lecture on the nuances of Indian classical music. School also participated in an awareness programme by Baramati Nagar Parishad on creating awareness about plastic waste management.  Mr. Vinod Bodhankar guided the students.

The Annual Science Exhibition was held in the online mode which showcased the project, models and other activities done by the students throughout the year. Children are encouraged to present their innovative ideas to the parents and other guests through working and demonstrative models, charts, time line, best out of waste material exhibits. All efforts were taken to ensure that no thermocol was used for the projects and each student understood the importance of keeping the environment clean and planting more trees.

Moral education is an essential part of the school curriculum. In association with Project CACA (Children Against Child Abuse), a series of age appropriate and progressive life skills and value education safety workbooks have been introduced with a focus on child abuse prevention. It includes the academic, psychological and legal aspect of child safety, gender equality and child rights. Children are familiarized with the POSCO Act. Health development is stressed upon in the school which includes both physical and mental health.


Promotion of Sports and other Co-curricular Activities

Along with academics, sports is an integral part of the school curriculum. Students are motivated and guided to be physically fit and mentally alert as a ‘Sound mind resides in a healthy body only.’ Basketball, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Football, Badminton, Karate are the sports activities which are played and enjoyed by all students. Students also do regular exercises, practice self defence techniques and perform drills with rings, dumbbells, lezims, etc. Mass P.T. is organized weekly and extra training is provided for the students in badminton and karate preparing them for taluka level competitions. Yoga and meditation is an integral part of the sports periods. In addition, there is an active Sports Club which is involved in different games like cricket, kho kho, badminton, kabaddi, Karate. This academic session all sports activities were conducted virtually like Mass P.T, Yoga and meditation, familiarising students with the rules of both indoor and outdoor games.


Students Achievements in Inter School Competitions and Competitive Exams

Students participated in various competitive exams throughout the year. The main purpose behind encouraging students to participate in these competitions is to improve their concentration, time management skills, sharpen their mental ability and problem solving techniques. Students actively participated in various other competitions held outside the school.

Arnav Babhale of class V won First Prize in English Elocution competition organised by Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth. Krupa Shelke of Vth won second prize in this competition.. She also won First prize in Online competition organised by Sri Dhuntiraj Thambe Trust, Majalgoan, Beed. She won a certificate and cash prize for her achievement. Shreeja Tengale of class IV and Shivanjali Sapkal of class V won prizes in the District level Elocution competition organised by Namdevrao Patil Sarvajanik Vachnalay, Korhale.

The drawing made by Vedika Katkar of Class VIII has been selected in the top 50 entries in Maharashtra. She won a certificate and cash prize for her achievement The competition was orgasniued by CBSE in collaboration with Petroleum Conservation Research Association. Our students also won many prizes in the competitions organised by Baramati Nagar Parishad. Reeshita Patil of Class III secured second position in the Smart Survival Skills category of Class 3 to 5 organised by  Pune Sahodaya CBSE group of schools. Students also participated in Hub activities. Arya Doshi of Class IX won second prize in Poster Making Competition and Shivanjali Sapkal of class VI won First prize in Solo Singing Competition organised by Vidya Pratishthan’s Cyrus Poonawala School, Baramati.

In sports too our students performed well. Anay Makrand Ware of Class I completed 82km cycle run organised by Baramati Forum and Baramati cycle club. Arham Doshi and Sudarshan Koli also completed 82 km. cycle ride. Sharanya Kolse of class II bagged gold and bronze medals in District level Karate competition.

The session 2021-22 has been one of progress and achievements. The school has been growing from strength to strength since its inception in 2012. It has witnessed an improvement in its infrastructural facilities, academic standards, quality of teaching and learning, assessment pattern and enrolment. We are committed to make our students confident and responsible citizens of the country – and promoting their holistic development in all spheres.


Teachers Training & Professional Development

Our committed staff of teachers are undergoing a process of continuous development by undertaking a number of training sessions on different portals of CBSE. Eager to accept the challenges of teaching in an online mode, the teachers have quickly learnt the different online teaching methods and ways of keeping students actively involved in a virtual mode. They are always eager to learn and accept the recent trends in education and ensure maximum learning outcomes in the teaching-learning process.
